Spa-like Mineral Clay!

I ordered this for my hair and it really holds well without the stiffness. It leaves my hair soft and beautiful! I don't really like the scent but I believe it's because it's a natural clay. My wife and kids use it too and they love it! I would recommend it for a natural soft look!

Lots of texture, but a polarizing scent

I've got shoulder-length, fairly fine hair with a bit of a wave to it. I tend to prefer products that enhance the texture without weighing my hair down, and I'm not looking for a lot of hold or shine.
I've used a few other clays, with mixed results, and while the Saphira is better than either of those, it's not quite perfect. First off, the ingredients include petrolatum, lanolin, and beeswax, so it does take a little more effort to wash out. I didn't feel like my regular shampoo (Verb Ghost shampoo) got everything out after 1 wash, but the residue wasn't a problem once dry. I would recommend a clarifying shampoo and conditioner every other week or so if you're using this regularly.
Second, the scent in the container is rather pungent. It reminds me of rustic pine furniture, very resinous. Luckily, you don't need much product at all (I used a fingertip's worth on shoulder-length hair, and that was plenty), and once distributed, the scent is much less noticeable.
I'm happy to report that I'm getting plenty of texture, without losing the movement, and using the clay is very easy. I like to warm it up by rubbing between my palms, as that really helps it to spread. Excellent stuff if the small issues don't bother you.

Nice for shorter hair

I believe this would be a perfect product for shorter hair styles. My hair is long and fine, so it may be just a little heavy for my needs. The scent is a little strange, takes some getting used to, but I suppose it's because it's a more natural product. It seems to be a good quality product, and a tiny bit goes a LONG way. Good to use for men with short hair, or women with a pixie cut.

Works great but smells AWFUL

OK, let’s get this out of the way right off the top: this clay smells pretty terrible. Almost like plastic? Really not great.

BUT. The clay’s performance is excellent. My husband and I both use it and love it. He has short hair and uses this to add some control and texture to his hair. He likes that it only takes a tiny bit to give him the hold he’s looking for. He uses far less of this product than other, similar products. I have long, naturally wavy hair. I always use some kind of tub-based product — clay, pomade, etc — as a finishing product for my hair after I’ve styled it. I used this to lightly smooth over individual wave clumps, and to keep down flyaways. It works really well for me.

I think it’s unfortunate that such a great product smells so terrible. Honestly. Luckily, it doesn’t linger forever, but it doesn’t dissipate immediately, either. I would recommend this clay far and wide if it weren’t for the smell.

am I the only one who likes the smell lol

Upon reading other reviews, I was a little bit worried about the smell. After using it all week I actually like the smell. It reminds me of men's cologne, very musky.

I find that this was able to provide me with just the right amount of shine and hold to make my curls last. Instead of using a hairspray I've opted for this instead. I do want anyone reading this review to be aware that you have to use very, very little. For my entire head of hair I use about a little less than the size of a dime. I find that it's excellent to tame baby hairs too!
